Irrfan Khan, Sushant Singh Rajput And Rishi Kapoor To Get A Tribute At Indian Film Festival Melbourne
New Delhi: Bollywood lost three of its most talented stars this year – Irrfan Khan, Rishi Kapoor and Sushant Singh Rajput. The demise of these three brilliant performers came as a shock to the entire industry and the world. The work that Irrfan, Sushant and Rishi Kapoor has left for us is simply irreplaceable. As the world and especially the film industry is coming in terms with the loss, Indian Film Festival Melbourne will be paying a fitting tribute to the late actors.
Commemorating Rishi Kapoor, Irrfan Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput’s legacy, the IFFM will be screening Rishi Kapoor’s ‘102 Not Out’, Irrfan Khan’s ‘Song Of Scorpions’ and Sushant Singh Rajput’s ‘Kedarnath’ as a part of the film festival’s tribute section.
The festival’s in-charge Mitu Bhowmick Lange said in a statement, “Artistes live on through their legacy. These were some fine men who did some incredible movies that resonated with everyone. It was important for us to celebrate their memory. We handpicked some great films for our audience so that we relive a little bit of their lives with them. Their loss to the film industry is irrevocable but the magic of their movies will continue to entertain generations hereafter.”
Rishi Kapoor’s ‘102 Not Out’ also starred Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role which is a comedy-drama based on the eponymous Gujarati play written by Saumya Joshi.
Directed by Anup Singh, Irrfan Khan’s ‘Song of Scorpions’ is a drama film which stars Golshifteh Farahani as a tribal woman and the late actor as a camel trader.
Sushant Singh Rajput’s movie ‘Kedarnath’ opposite Sara Ali Khan released in the year 2018. This movie also marks the debut of the ‘Simmba’ actress in Bollywood. Helmed by Abhishek Kapoor, ‘Kedarnath’ tells an inter-faith love story set near the historic Kedarnath Temple. It also shows the sudden rains of the 2013 Uttarakhand floods which devastated the region.
