Camp Google 2020 for Kids: Google announces ‘Camp Google 2020′ to help kids learn digital skills
NEW DELHI: Google has announced its ‘Camp Google 2020‘ initiative for kids and their parents to engage in learning experiences together. The program offers an array of activities that combine real-world projects with virtual learning experiences. Google believes that this will help kids acquire digital skills
Over the course of two weeks, beginning July 1, there will be five assignments that kids can access on the Camp Google 2020 website, accompanied by a set of instructions that will answer “how-to” questions. Each of these assignments will also include elements that teach kids to stay safe online – guiding them to be good digital citizens. Kids can submit their assignments by July 20.
Google will also facilitate virtual sessions by experts in psychology to motivate children. Kids will stand a chance to win prizes, including the opportunity to attend a masterclass with the YouTubers themselves, having their prize-winning entries posted on Google India’s social handles, and getting the best entry from the storytelling segment published in the Read Along app.
“From crafting a wildlife story using Augmented Reality animals in Search to a virtual journey across the nation, exploring the rich craft and traditions on Google Arts and Culture platform, kids will experience a wide range of activities that will keep them engaged throughout their journey with Camp Google 2020. The kids will also be encouraged to learn about India’s natural resources and how to preserve them on Google Earth, and ultimately get introduced to the world of programming with Scratch. There will be something new and exciting to learn every day,” said Google India in a statement.
